The Digital Citizenship Summit brings together students, teachers, organizations, & individuals who are passionate about improving the quality of their digital lives and changing their communities. But what if you don’t have access to the resources or a platform to promote change? Confronted With this issue, we created a series of short-form, zero-cost games to engage with our community around digital citizenship issues we were passionate about, including improving password security, managing your digital footprint, and spotting online media bias. After running these games in our library, we published a toolkit so that others can do the same! This Workshop begins with a short explanation of our project, followed by hands-on play time with our games. Then, we will lead participants in a design sprint to gamify a digital citizenship issue of their choice. Finally, participants will present their games to each other, and have the opportunity to contribute to our Digital Literacy Toolkit.
